Kapuas District area has a rich natural potential. One of the administrative region that is rich in Kapuas district is Kapuas Kuala Sub District.

Based on the assignment letter of the Head of Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Kapuas District No. 094/88 / DISPORA BUDPAR/VII/2011 dated July 1, 2011 held collection of natural and cultural potential in Kapuas Kuala Sub district for 2 (two) days of the date of July 4 to 5, 2011 with a route Kuala Kapuas – Lupak – Pantai Cemara Labat.

Among the key points of the trip are:

The journey from Kuala Kapuas to Lupak and Cemara Labat Beach can be reached by land route (motorcycle / car) and river (speedboat / kelotok).

River trips require a fee to use more expensive speedboat and a relatively short time (1.5 to 2.5 hours) while the use kelotok cost less but take up to 6 hours.

Constraints transportation by land route is the highway that has not been good.

The potential advantages of nature in Kapuas Kuala sub district and can be developed as a tourist attraction include:

a. The vast expanse of rice fields along the edge of the highway.

b. Galam broad forest groups at the edges of rice paddies and fields of society.

c. Mangrove forest vegetation in the back of the village following Cemara Labat Pine forests and grasslands like purun and nipa.

d. The number of streams, and canal (anjir) colored people’s daily activities is the basic capital fringe river tourism development.

e. Cemara Labat beach and the daily activities of fishermen in the Java Sea.

f. The existence of a vast pool of water as the pond area that could be developed into a fishing tourism arena.

g. The existence of macaques and stork habitat in large enough quantities.

h. The development community in the fields behind the coastal embankment Pantai Cemara Labat.

The fundamental weaknesses that must be considered if want to develop this area into a tourist destination are:

a. There has been the road that is wide enough to close to Pantai Cemara Labat beach but currently covered with shrubs in the absence of treatment.

b. There has been the poles toward the village of Cemara Labat but lack of maintenance.

c. Road conditions in general were severely damaged.

Efforts to fight for the territory of Kapuas Kuala Sub district into a tourist destination in Kapuas district is required coordination among the agencies / institutions for the development of tourism potential that exists in part under the authority of the PU Department, Fisheries Department, Forestry Service, Environment Agency and the Department of Agriculture.
